Welcome to PAFE
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing a fun and educational experience for young performers in the Greater Eastside areas of metropolitan Seattle in Washington state since 1986. Our festival is held the week after Easter at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 2850 148th Ave. SE, Bellevue.
Happy New Year! Registration Opens January 21
In 2016, PAFE had the largest enrollment ever with 320 performers, age 5 to over 70, with more than 450 class registrations, and more than $3,500 in awards for outstanding performances. ALL divisions closed early last year, and a number of performers were put on wait lists. Be prepared to register early so you don't miss out! Watch this page for more information.
Adjudicators For the 2017 Festival
The adjudicators for 2017 have been determined, and we are excited to have such quality people involved with our 30th PAFE Festival:
- Piano Division: Dr. Oksana Ezhokina of Pacific Lutheran University,
and Dr. Jeffrey Savage of Washington State University
- Violin-Viola Division: Dr. Maria Sampen of the University of Puget Sound
and Sharon Stanis of University of Victoria
- Cello-Bass Division: Paige Stockley Lerner of Cornish College of the Arts
- Woodwind Division: Karla Warnke Flygare of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra
- Voice Division: Dr. Gayla Blaisdell of Central Washington University
The 2017 Festival is our 30th Season
A group of people that included Barbara and Stanley Miller, and Edgar and Verna Borup, presented the Eastside Music Festival in 1986. In 1987, the same group of people, along with Richard Engstrom, established PAFE and presented the first Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside. Those same people led the board of directors for many years.
The PAFE Festival is a fun place to make music and to hear music. As a performer, it is a safe place to test your abilities as a musician, and to meet others who are just as passionate as you about music. The Concerts are a great place to hear great music, and for the First Place winners to be heard in a public concert. Feel free to bring your friends, and also bring non-perishable food as a donation to the Food Bank.
