What are the dates of this year's Festival?
Ballet adjudications are March 16, 2008
Instrumental adjudications, including voice and harp, are April 7 - 12, 2008
Where do Festival adjudications take place?
Ballet adjudications are held at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Francia Russell Center, 13440 NE 16th Street, Bellevue WA, 98005. Click here for a map. All other adjudications (piano, string, flute/reed, voice, and harp) are held at Bellevue Christian Church, 10808 SE 28th Street, Bellevue WA, 98004. Click here for a map.
Who is eligible to enter?
All individuals, ensembles, or groups must be in a regular program of music study under the direction of a recognized teacher or director. They must have studied a minimum of one (1) year.
Entrants may be any age, but must reside within or attend school in King County with the following exceptions:
Piano entrants must reside in the "greater Eastside" of King County, and/or study under the direction of a recognized teacher who resides and teaches in the "greater Eastside." "Greater Eastside" is defined by the following boundaries: Bothell-Woodinville to the north, Renton to the south, Snoqualmie Valley to the east, and Mercer Island to the west.
String, flute, and reed entrants must reside within King County.
Voice entrants must reside in King, Pierce, or Snohomish counties.
Harp entrants must reside in the greater Pugent Sound area.
Ballet entrants must reside in the greater Puget Sound and British Columbia areas.
All entrants must be non-professional (a person whose principal means of employment is not obtained from musical endeavors, although he or she may accept stipends or honorariums at such times as musical services may be rendered).
May I videotape my student's adjudication?
No. No recording of any kind - audio, video, or digital - is allowed during the adjudications. You are welcome, however, to record your child's performance in the recognition recital.

No.
What is the registration deadline?
All entries must be postmarked by January 25, 2008

Do I have to provide my own accompanist?
Yes. PAFE does not provide accompanists.
Can I use a recording in place of a live accompanist?
Only ballet entrants are allowed the use of a recording in place of a live accompanist. All instrumentalists, including voice and harp, must use a live accompanists if their pieces require an accompaniment.
When will the student be notified of his or her performance times?
No later than two weeks before the beginning of the Festival.
Will PAFE also notify the student's teacher and accompanist?
No. It is the responsibility of the student to notify his or her teacher and accompanist of the performance time(s).
